Family Drop-In Day

Tour the Edible Eden exhibition in the Art Museum and discover how different artists have depicted food from Long Island's forests, fields and waters.  Beginning at 11:30, museum educators will lead family fun activities and crafts in the Studio. Admission is free.

Home School Day

Join us for this exciting opportunity for homeschool families. Through tours, art-making and hands-on activities, the day will encourage families to explore current exhibitions and gain a deeper understanding of the lives of Long Islanders of a bygone era. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Free for parents; $5 per student ($20 maximum per family).  Please call extension 212 for more information and to register.

Book Club

Students in grades 4 through 6 and their families will take a guided tour through the exhibition, Midnight Rum:  Long Island and Prohibition.  Afterward, join Emma Clark librarians for a discussion of Black Duck by Janet Taylor Lisle.  Register in person and pick up the book at the library beginning April 22.  This program is free; pre-registration is required. Take a guided tour of the Edible Eden exhibition followed by a discussion of Thomas Barritt's Long Island Food:  A History from Family Farms & Oysters to Craft Spirits.  Carolyn Emerson, Reference Librarian at Emma S. Clark Memorial Library leads the discussion.
