Animal Kingdom: From Tame to Wild

Whether you’re a professional artist or you just like to dabble in art for leisure, you’re encouraged to join our juried exhibitions.  We host one per year the themes are different for each one.

This year, all amateur and professional artists were invited to submit up to three works with animals as the theme.  An panel of Museum staff members chose 75 finalists out of more than 300 works submitted.

Seung Lee, Professor of Art and Director of Fine Arts and Graduate Studies at LIU Post; and Christine Mossaides Strassfield, Museum Director of Chief Curator of Guild Hall Museum selected four winning entries and they found two additional works worthy of Honorable Mention.

All final entries will be displayed in the Visitors Center from September 15 through October 31, 2017 for the Animal Kingdom exhibition.
