Scheduled during the school year when school is out of session, Vacation Ventures engage students in reading and creativity, taking inspiration from various authors, artists and illustrators.
April 12, – Pop Art in Fashion
Students in grades 2 through 4 will learn how Pop Artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein influenced fashion over the decades. Museum educators will teach students to create their own wearable designs. See calendar for details
The Long Island Museum
Located at 1200 Route 25A in Stony Brook, the Long Island Museum is a Smithsonian affiliate, dedicated to American history and art with a Long Island connection.
The museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m and Sunday from noon to 5.
Regular admission is $10 per person, $7 for seniors and $5 for students ages six to 17. Children under six and museum members are free.
