Books bring families together in this unique experience for children in grades 4 through 6 and their families. Come to the museum for a guided tour the Long Road to Freedom: Surviving Slavery on Long Island exhibition, then take part in a book discussion of Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson from Emma S. Face-to-Face

Spend your afternoon with artists featured in the Face to Face exhibition and watch them create portraits of lucky selected visitors! Artists Doug Reina, Kelynn Alder and Kevin McEvoy, all who have works on display in the Face To Face exhibition, will treat visitors to a taste of their work by using them as the subjects. See yourself through the eyes of an artist. This program is free with regular museum admission.
