Caring for a loved one with dementia can be challenging and stressful. Yet most caregivers do not receive any education about how to effectively provide care. During this 4-session workshop, you will be provided with the information, strategies and practical skills training needed for creating a more positive caregiving experience.

Key topics addressed include:

  • Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease and other causes of dementia
  • Techniques for communicating with the person you are caring for
  • Strategies for managing challenging behaviors caused by dementia
  • Understanding the importance of self-care and strategies for lessening stress

This program is free and space is limited. For more information or to register for this workshop, contact Beth Chiarelli at (631) 751-0066 x211 or bchiarelli@longislandmuseum.org.
