Caring for a loved one with dementia can be challenging and stressful. Yet most caregivers do not receive any education about how to effectively provide care. During this 4-session workshop, you will be provided with the information, strategies and practical skills training needed for creating a more positive caregiving experience.
Key topics addressed include:
- Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease and other causes of dementia
- Techniques for communicating with the person you are caring for
- Strategies for managing challenging behaviors caused by dementia
- Understanding the importance of self-care and strategies for lessening stress
