In collaboration with the Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council, the Long Island Museum is pleased to present the documentary Halston with guest speaker, Director Frederic Tcheng.
About the film: From Iowa to the glory days of Studio54, Halston is the epic story of the superstar designer who put American fashion on the map in the 70s, clothing celebrities such as Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor and Bianca Jagger and producing runway shows featuring the elite “Halstonette” models. But everything changed in the Wall Street era. With his couture empire under threat by corporate domination, Halston took the biggest gamble of his life and designed a line for JC Penney, thus ruining his name and his career.
