Enjoy a series of afternoons at the Long Island Museum with this special program to creatively engage those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners.
Over six sessions participants will develop Life is a Cabaret, a unique musical revue featuring highlight moments from the most popular shows ever produced on the Great White Way. The production will explore and present music that audiences know and love, such as Another Openin’, Another Show; You’ve Gotta Have Heart; Some Enchanted Evening; and Lullaby of Broadway. The workshop will culminate in an afternoon of song and dance for our community of friends and family. Most importantly, these sessions will provide those with memory loss and their care partners an opportunity for joyful engagement and collaboration.
This program will be led by ThinkBig! director Heather Thorgerson, a theater artist and dementia care specialist. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please contact Beth Chiarelli at (631) 751-0066 x211 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Life is a Cabaret is a collaboration between LIM and ThinkBig! Theater Arts. Offered at no charge and underwritten by a generous grant from the Knapp/Swezey Foundation, Inc. and sponsored by Burner Law Group, P.C.
