Museum Stories! Women in Mathematics Day Edition

In-person event with a virtual visit from Award-Winning Children’s Author Laurie Wallmark.
Join the Long Island Museum as we celebrate Women in Mathematics Day, a joyful way to highlight women in this field. The evening is open to families and will include a read-aloud of the book Grace Hopper: Queen of Computer Code, a livestream opportunity for a Meet and Greet on Zoom with the author of this book, Laurie Wallmark, and a signed copy of the book to keep! The evening will include time for exploration of the museum’s new exhibition Atoms to Cosmos: The Story of Brookhaven National Laboratory and a chance to try out some math themed hands-on activities. The event is suggested for families with children in grades 2-6, but older and younger siblings welcome! $15 members/$20 non-members per family, which includes one signed copy of the book and pre-registration is suggested.
