An 1890s Day at the Nassakeag Schoolhouse
Students will have the opportunity to learn about a typical 19th century schoolhouse experience through the lens of the historic Nassakeag Schoolhouse. A discussion of the similarities and differences between school long ago and today will establish context. Students will practice arithmetic, reading, and Spenserian Script like 1890s students.

- Pricing is per program, per class:
- Up to 25 students per class $175 per program.
- There is a discounted fee of $300 for classes who book both this program and At Work & At Play.

At Work & At Play
What important work did children do long ago to help their farms and households run smoothly? When they weren’t doing chores, what did children do for fun? Students will discover answers to these questions by exploring the museum’s 1794 Williamson-Ploch Barn, examining artifacts, and engaging in hands-on learning activities. Students will also be introduced to the importance of farming culture and how wheat is an essential crop for our day-to-day lives both today and in the past.
