Culper Spy Day

See history come to life with this self-guided interactive tour spanning the Three Villages and beyond! Start at any location and make your own revolutionary story. Activities and sites include:

  • Spy-themed breakfast at Three Village Inn (not included with Culper Spy Day ticket price. Call 631.751.0555 for reservations)
  • Anna Smith Strong’s famed clothesline, invisible ink demonstrations and book signing with children’s author Selene Castrovilla at the Three Village Historical Society, Setauket
  • Giant murals by Vance Locke of the Culper Spy Ring at Setauket Elementary School
  • Live colonial music at Emma S. Clark Memorial Library and Three Village Historical Society, Setauket
  • Grain grinding at Stony Brook Grist Mill
  • Blacksmith demonstrations at LIM, Stony Brook (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Colonial cooking demonstrations, multiple locations
  • George Washington’s original letters to members of the Culper Spy Ring, Stony Brook University Special Collections
  • Spy-themed lunch at Country House Restaurant, Stony Brook (not included with Culper Spy Day ticket price. Call 631.751.3332 for reservations)
  • Lessons in a one-room schoolhouse at LIM, Stony Brook (2 – 4 p.m.)
  • Revolutionary War encampment with the Benjamin Tallmadge District of the Boy Scouts, Long Island Museum, Stony Brook
  • Spy Ring characters, Benjamin Tallmadge, Abraham Woodhull and Anna Smith Strong, multiple locations
  • Tour of the Brewster House, Setauket
  • “Turn:  Washington’s Spies” memorabilia LIVE auction & sale with Three Village Historical Society at Gallery North (Requires purchase of Culper Spy Day tickets; Sale, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Live auction, 2 p.m.)

Plus, bicycle tours, children’s activities, walking tours, museum exhibitions and much more!  Tickets on sale at TVHS.org through September 15. Complimentary map provided at Three Village Historical Society when you pick up your tickets.  Children under six are free. Use your Culper Spy Day ticket for free admission at LIM September 22 and 23 and visit the new exhibition Elias Pelletreau:  Long Island Silversmith & Entrepreneur to learn about this important Revolutionary Era figure.
