Summer Thursdays 2025

Kick off your summer at LIM! Join us for select Thursday evenings this summer for unique ways to experience LIM after hours for FREE. All events are set to take place outdoors on the museum’s grounds, but will move indoors in case of inclement weather.

June 26  at 5:30 pm – Jane Austen’s Emma

Performed by EastLine Theatre

Bring a picnic and celebrate Jane Austen‘s 250th year with EastLine Theatre’s production of Emma.  Emma Woodhouse is clever, educated, and energetic…and in imminent danger of going mad with idleness. In a time when respectable ladies are expected to sit quietly at home, she desperately needs projects—and prides herself on matchmaking. But where Emma’s considerable energies focus, screwball comedy ensues.

July 17 at 5:30 pm – Old-Timey Fun

With Music, Games & Crafts!

Step back in time with an evening of outdoor fun including guitar & fiddle music with Johnny Cuomo and Brian Chabza. Play historic outdoor games and make your own game of Graces to play at home. Also, join Beet from HeartBeet Farms to plant your favorite veggie & sunflower seeds and provide tips on how to help them grow!

August 14 at 5:30 pm – Gene Casey and Friends

With Brian Chabza and Pete Crugnale

Grab the family, pack a picnic, and don’t forget your dancing shoes! Enjoy a toe-tapping evening with Gene Casey, featuring Brian Chabza on violin and Pete Crugnale on bass. Get ready for a cool mix of country, honky tonk, blues, ballads, and both classic and original tunes.

You CAN Help Out while you Rock Out! Bring some healthy non-perishable food donations for People & Pets to the show for rock CAN roll!

September 18  at 5:30 pm – Back to School Fun!

With an Old-timey Schoolmarm

School is in session for the whole family as you visit the schoolmarm in the one-room schoolhouse for hands-on-history fun, plus paint your own slate board masterpiece.

Second Saturdays

On the second Saturday of each month, families are welcome to drop in anytime between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to join educators and participate in a hands-on activity or art project inspired by exhibitions on view.

No registration required. Included with museum admission.

All supplies are provided. Children under 16 must have an adult with them.

SUMMER 2025 DATES

June 14: Get inspired by the Triumph of Nature exhibition and drop in to decorate a small flower pot. Take home seeds to watch botanical beauty bloom from the outside and within.

July 12th and August 9th: Capture the beauty of the LIM’s gardens and grounds with an afternoon of painting en plein air.  Painters of all ages and levels are invited. Bring your painting/drawing materials, or borrow from us!

September 13: Get inspired by the patterns of Art Nouveau! Finish a masterpiece with your own zentangle and floral designs, and even add some gold to your work!
