Group Tours
Bring your group to The Long Island Museum for an engaging visit that combines art, history, and culture. Guided group tours offer access to the Carriage Museum—home to one of the nation’s finest collections of horse-drawn vehicles—along with rotating art and history exhibitions that change throughout the year (See current and upcoming exhibitions). Led by knowledgeable educators and tailored to your group’s interests, our tours provide fascinating insights into Long Island’s art and history, along with a look into the world before cars.
Guided Group Tours
Guided group tours booked during our regular general public hours, Thursday through Sunday (see below for museum hours), include a 10% Gift Shop discount and visitor passes to allow tour guests to continue exploring the museum on their own through to closing time. Guided group tours may also be scheduled Monday through Wednesday, but are limited to the designated tour area only and do not include a Gift Shop discount or passes to tour the entire museum.
Guided group tours may pay via a single check the day of the tour or via credit card in advance of the tour.

Unguided Group Tours
LIM offers unguided group visits for a discounted fee of $10 per person, plus a 10% Gift Shop discount. Unguided group visits can take place only during regular open hours, Thursday through Sunday (see below for museum hours). A minimum of 10 people is needed. Unguided group tours will pay at the Visitors Center upon their arrival at the museum; no registration required.
General Public Hours
Thursday: 11:30 am–7:00 pm (free admission from 5:00– 7:00 pm)
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: noon–5:00 pm

Please note that the Museum closes annually to the public from late December through mid-February. During this time, rotating exhibitions are closed, but tours of the Carriage Museum remain available.

The Long Island Museum offers many interesting, entertaining and educational programs for school children. Over the past year, the museum’s school programs served over 12,000 school children from 59 school districts.
