Artist in the Gallery: Durrell Hunter

Visitors to the Enduring Heart: Native American Long Island exhibition have the unique opportunity to meet featured artist Durrell Hunter, a Shinnecock Indian Nation Tribal Member, in the gallery as he casually speaks about his work and creative process with visitors.
This event is included with museum admission. No registration required.
Durrell is a fine artist from Long Island, New York. His practice centers on preserving and uplifting the stories of his people through portraiture and landscape painting. Working primarily in acrylic, he creates intimate, narrative-driven works that document milestones within the Shinnecock Nation, focusing on the lived experiences of his generation.
