Born in Princeton, New Jersey, she grew up in Manhattan, where she was immersed in the Greenwich Village folk scene and surrounded by musical giants including Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and others. At age 15, she began seeking out and learning directly from blues legends such as Son House, Skip James, and Mississippi John Hurt, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the blues world.
Her latest release, Heavy On The Blues, on Long Island-based M.C. Records, adds to an impressive catalog of more than 35 albums, including one devoted entirely to the songs of Bob Dylan.
