Halloween Family Fun Day – FREE!

Come in costume and celebrate Halloween with a day of family-friendly fun at the Museum! Paint your own pumpkin, get creative with festive crafts, explore the galleries, and enjoy an exciting Mad Science show filled with fun, wacky discoveries.

Help make a difference in our community by bringing a non-perishable food donation for our fall food drive, which provides easy-to-prepare meals to food-insecure schoolchildren across Long Island.

This fun fall event is free for everyone!

Public funding provided by Suffolk County and the New York State Council on the Arts.

Craft a beautiful painted leaf mobile. Perfect for ages 7 and up, this fall nature-inspired art project results in a stunning, personalized room decoration that dances gently in the autumn breeze.   

Come early to enjoy free museum admission! Please stop at our Visitors Center and let them know you are registered for the Workshop to secure your complimentary museum pass for the day!

Children under 16 must be with an adult.

Picture Perfect: Felt Portrait Workshop

Get creative at the Museum’s Studio with this fun fall workshop!

This versatile paste felt portrait workshop lets participants transform photos or imaginations into soft, 2D textured masterpieces. Using vibrant felt shapes and easy crafting adhesives, attendees will cut, layer, and glue personalized self-portraits, family members, or beloved pets into unique keepsakes. Great for holiday gift-giving.

Come early to enjoy free admission to the museum! Please stop at our Visitors Center and let them know you are registered for the Workshop to secure your complimentary museum pass for the day!

Recommended for ages 7 and up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Boys & Girls Club of Shinnecock Nation Dance Troupe

Experience the vibrant culture and traditions of the Shinnecock Nation through a special performance by the Boys & Girls Club of Shinnecock Nation Dance Troupe. Made up of Native American youth from the Shinnecock Nation, the troupe shares their heritage through the power of dance, performing throughout Long Island and New York City.

Featuring both powwow-style and traditional Shinnecock dances, the performance offers an engaging opportunity to learn about Indigenous traditions, history, and cultural expression.

This program is included with museum admission. No registration is required.

In celebration of the 30th Annual Charles Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson Village, stop by the Carriage Museum to meet roaming costumed street characters from the Dickensian era as they magically transform the galleries into London of a bygone century. Included with museum admission. In collaboration with the Port Jefferson Arts Council.
